Do I need to buy Corcovado tickets or permits myself?
No. When you book a Sukia package, we take care of the Corcovado permits/tickets and coordination as part of the service.
Corcovado is the “last frontier” in Costa Rica—logistics are complex. Our packages exist to make this easy: we handle the reservations, guide/operator requirements, timing, and transport connections.
Your job: share your dates and the basic info needed for reservations (names/passport details if required). Our job: make it smooth.
Do I need to book early?
Yes—especially in high season. Availability for Corcovado sectors and overnights can fill up. Booking early gives you the best chance to secure your preferred dates and package style.
Where do we sleep during the multi-day packages?
Outside Corcovado (Drake Bay nights): you can choose accommodation style—shared or private, A/C or no A/C—depending on budget and comfort preference.
Inside Corcovado (overnight nights): park stations are standardized dorm-style bunk beds (shared). That’s the only accommodation available inside the park for overnight stays.
Do Corcovado overnight camps have private rooms or A/C?
No. Corcovado station lodging is basic and shared (bunk beds / dorm-style). Comfort upgrades (private rooms, A/C) apply to your nights outside the park.

Option 1 — Bus + boat (popular):
- Take a public bus toward Palmar Norte / Sierpe (TRACOPA routes vary by day/season).
- From Sierpe, take the public boat to Drake Bay.
Option 2 — Flight (fastest):
- Fly from San José → Drake Bay Airport (about ~45–50 minutes, schedule varies by season).
Option 3 — Private taxi / shuttle:
- Private transfer to Sierpe + boat, or direct private solutions depending on your itinerary.

What’s the public boat schedule from Sierpe to Drake Bay?
Public boat departures commonly run around late morning and mid-afternoon (often ~11:30 AM and ~3:30–4:00 PM). Times can shift by season and operator, so confirm near your dates.
Are there ATMs in Drake Bay? How much cash should I bring?
There are no ATMs in Drake Bay. Bring enough cash for tips and small purchases, and withdraw before arriving (Palmar Norte is commonly used as the last reliable ATM stop).
Is rainy season a bad time to visit Drake Bay and the Osa Peninsula?
Not at all. Green season can be more immersive, with fewer people on trails and rainforest at its peak—many travelers love it for a more authentic Osa feel.
October: we typically don’t recommend October because rainfall peaks and Sirena sector is closed in October (other sectors may remain open).
Are single-use plastic water bottles allowed in Corcovado?
No. Single-use plastics (including disposable plastic water bottles) are prohibited in Costa Rica’s national parks.
Bring a reusable/refillable bottle (metal or hard reusable plastic). Rangers may remove prohibited items at entry.
Do I really need water shoes for Corcovado / Sirena?
Yes. For many boat arrivals (especially Sirena), there is no dock and landings can be wet (waves + beach entry).
Bring sturdy water shoes or secure strap sandals (not flip-flops). You’ll switch to hiking shoes/boots for trails.
