Sukia Travel is a tour operator committed to environmental conservation, sustainable development of the Bahía Drake community, and the promotion of responsible tourism. Our sustainability policy guides all our operations and business decisions, reflecting our commitment to protecting natural and cultural resources for future generations by committing to minimize the environmental impact of our operations. This includes biodiversity conservation, waste management, emissions reduction, green innovation and technology, environmental education, and awareness.

To implement this sustainability policy, it is important to analyze the environmental impact of how the tour operator currently operates and its environmental impact, thus identifying areas for improvement and opportunities to implement sustainable practices. Likewise, the company’s commitment to support and promote this policy is crucial. Objectives and goals are established, employees are involved in the policy implementation process with training where they can actively contribute to sustainability in their work. In addition, selecting sustainable suppliers who share values and offer products and services that meet environmental standards, promoting responsible practices with customers, and encouraging the Bahía Drake community to actively practice environmental conservation. Periodically review to ensure effective follow-up where necessary adjustments are made to adapt to operational changes and meet stakeholder expectations.

General Objective:

Identify the environmental sustainability shortcomings presented by Sukia Travel and its community to promote environmental conservation in all its operations and minimize the negative impact on the environment, fostering sustainable practices, responsible tourist activities, and contributing to the well-being of the Bahía Drake community while preserving the natural biodiversity of the area.

Specific Objectives:

  • A) Conduct an assessment of the environmental sustainability and natural resource consumption shortcomings present in Sukia Travel’s current activities.
  • B) Generate different ideas and proposals for activities that can be carried out for the environmental conservation of Sukia Travel and its Bahía Drake community.
  • C) Establish a collaborative dialogue with Bahía Drake community entities, such as primary and secondary education centers, community development associations, and their various organizations to carry out awareness activities to mitigate environmental damage.
  • D) Implement a monitoring system to evaluate the process of implementing sustainable practices and reducing environmental impact, ensuring a constant commitment to continuous improvement.

List of Activities to Develop:

  • Recycling Campaign:

  • Verify a collection center or a waste implementation system in the Bahía Drake community.
  • Placement of waste selection bins.
  • Signage with posters or signs indicating the practice and selection of recycling.
  • Organic waste treatment, for example, choosing a location within the facilities to make a hole in the ground where organic waste from visitors and employees can be deposited and transformed into organic compost for use in the site’s garden.

  • Environmental Education:


  • Motivate Sukia Travel visitors with prevention signs or posters about the environment, such as, DO NOT litter, let’s take care of nature, the importance of safeguarding nature, providing information on the importance of caring for our animals, especially those that are endangered, among others.


  • Use environmentally friendly products:


  • By using environmentally friendly products, we are helping to reduce our ecological footprint, for example, eco-friendly or biodegradable cleaning products, bath soap, paper or reusable bags, reusable water bottles, personal hygiene products such as bamboo toothbrushes, natural sponges. Recycled paper like toilet paper and napkins, recyclable office products, offering organic and local food, efficient appliances, among others.
