This expedition is for travellers who want both patient wildlife watching in Sirena and active exploration in San Pedrillo. It suits people in good health and physical condition who enjoy rugged jungle trails and are comfortable with simple shared accommodation.

This physically demanding expedition requires good health and physical condition. It is not recommended during pregnancy, for children under 10, or for people with serious heart conditions or severe physical or mobility limitations. The route is not wheelchair accessible.

During high season we need to book park tickets up to 6 months in advanced and such tickets are not refundable. Therefore the deposit of 25% is not refundable.
2 weeks to departure date or later 50% penalty, 1 day before the tour the penalty will be 100%. 
Corcovado National Park is one of the most amazing parks in the world but booking process is a nightmare.

Yes. Spend your first night at Sirena Ranger Station and your second at the inland jungle camp reached from San Pedrillo. Both nights are in simple shared accommodation with bunk beds and mosquito nets. Showers and toilets are available.

Our Corcovado 2-night expedition has a maximum of 6 guests per group.

Pickup is included at Playa Colorada, Drake Bay’s main beach, and agreed coastal beach meeting points in Las Caletas, Marenco, San Josecito and Rincón. Most central and coastal hotels are within about a five-minute walk of a meeting point. Guests staying farther inland should check with their hotel about a transfer to the beach.

The included return is by 4×4 from Los Planes to central Drake Bay and accommodation along that road route. Certain out-of-route drop-offs, including Las Caletas and Playa Rincón, cost an extra US$20–40 per person. Your return point may differ from your pickup beach. Send us the names of your hotels before and after the tour to confirm arrangements and any supplement before booking.

Attend the mandatory briefing the day before departure, between 12 noon and 6 pm, at our office. If you cannot attend in person, notify us in advance to arrange a phone briefing. Read the pickup, return and briefing guide.

This is a physically demanding expedition. Sirena combines slower wildlife walks with observation stops. The afternoon hike from San Pedrillo to the jungle camp is approximately 6.5–7.5 km (4.0–4.7 miles), in addition to the morning walks in Sirena. Day 3 continues through the forest towards Los Planes before lunch and the 4×4 return.

Approximate total ascent is 25 m (82 ft) on day 1, 237 m (778 ft) on day 2 and 200 m (656 ft) on day 3. Heat, humidity, mud and uneven terrain add to the effort. Routes and schedules may change with conditions.
