The adventure begins at 6:00 am. With a wet boarding and a boat ride to Sirena, your trip will go along the lush Pacific coast for about 1.15 hrs. With some luck, it will be possible to spot marine life, such as turtles, dolphins or whales and marine birds.
The arrival time is estimated to be at 7.30 am reaching the Sirena´s black sand beach, once there your guide will take the group on the way to the station facilities.
Once at the Sirena station you will be able to leave the excess of luggage and then armed with cameras and enthusiasm the tour will continue and enter the rainforest.
Lunch
At 11:30 am. Your guide will try to find a quiet place to have lunch, meanwhile it is key to remain alert and watching for an animal to make its appearance. The estimated time for lunch is of 30 minutes and afterwards go to the park station, to check in and have a break for about 2 hrs.
This is a strategic break, both to regain energy and to wait for tourists who take day trips to return and for animals that prefer slightly lower temperatures to appear. Between 2:00 and 2.30 pm your guide will start the journey again, new trails awaits you, rivers with natural pools or primary forest with giant trees. The walk ends after 3 hours, around 5 and 6 pm. To end the day, your guide will have dinner with the group at the restaurant of the station, and have a recap to comment on the animals seen during the adventures lived.
Day two
The day starts early shortly before 5 am, the group will get ready to go out before dawn. The first hours of the day are cool in temperature, which makes it perfect for some animals that rest when until the sun warms up. After walking for 2 or 2.30 hrs, the group will arrive at the station for breakfast at about 7.30 am. You will have time to rest after breakfast, check out and go back into the rainforest to finish the excursion with a walk of approximately 2.30 or 3 hrs. At midday, we take the boat to return to reach San Pedrillo Station.
The boat ride between Sirena and San Pedrillo takes about 45 minutes, we disembark in the wildest sector of Corcovado.
THIS IS WHERE THE ADVENTURE BEGINS!
In this tour the trails are irregular, wilder and in a more natural environment, we start walking to the San Pedrillo Waterfall where we will have lunch and refresh ourselves in fresh water pools.
The objective of this part of the tour is to get to know one of the few primary rainforests in the world, with ancient trees, forests over 3000 years old, land of top predators, such as pumas, jaguars, etc.
Here the animals are more elusive and maintain their natural behavior, so it is more difficult to see them, but you can get a great surprise, like seeing a Tyra hunting a sloth, or a puma hunting a spider monkey.
The main reason why we love this part of the tour is because of the interaction between prey and predators, even if it is just hearing or feeling them, it is something magical. We will walk on trails that only we walk, always looking for the purest and most adventure oriented.
Here you will feel the force of nature, you will feel small and spied.
In this part of the tour, the pace of the walk is faster, mainly to be able to surprise the animals that are very elusive and to be able to arrive at the station before nightfall.
Once we have covered a total of 20 kilometers and arrived safe and sound at the station, we will have dinner and get ready to rest, for today we have lived enough adventure.
Day three
In this hike you will walk about 9 km, always visiting wild trails and away from humans.
You will have the opportunity to bathe in freshwater rivers, and see a beautiful waterfall, and we arrive at noon to the sector of Los Planes where we take lunch and a 4X4 awaits us to leave us in Drake.
The tour ends after lunch around 1 pm or 2 pm.
Drop off: Drake Bay.
Pick up: Drake bay beach at 06:00 am.
Dropp-off: in the same place as pickups at 01:00 pm.
